NYMR Diesel Gala- June 2026
The railway season bursts into life with powerful diesel locomotives, extra services and a wonderful sense of nostalgia. Goathland Station becomes the centre of the action, making this a perfect early-season highlight for visitors staying in the village.
North Yorkshire Traditional Agricultural Shows - throughout Summer 2026
Agricultural, country and village shows are a much-loved part of summer in and around the North York Moors. You don’t need to be a farmer to enjoy them – from prize livestock and giant vegetables to show-jumping, music and family fun. Each show has its own character, but all share the same relaxed and enjoyable rural vibe.

Goathland Village Show and Scarecrow Festival – May/August 2026
Join in the Scarecrow Festival and find all the weird and wonderful scarecrows around the village!
The Village Show is a classic village day out in and around the Village Hall, Flower and Produce Show, homemade cakes, local stalls, traditional games and live entertainment. Friendly, relaxed and full of character, it’s Goathland at its most charming.
Farm and Vintage Vehicle Rallies – June & October 2026
A feast of vintage vehicles, traction engines and classic machinery arrives in the moors. The sights, sounds and smells of a bygone age make this a lively summer event for families and enthusiasts alike.
Heartbeat Vehicle Rally – June 2026
Step back in time as Goathland celebrates its role as the famous TV village of Aidensfield. Period vehicles, visits from the stars of the show and plenty of nostalgia bring the much-loved series vividly to life.
Cycle Events on the Moors - throughout the year
Cyclists tackle some of the most scenic (and challenging) routes in Yorkshire, winding through towns and villages across the moors.

Christmas in Goathland – December 2026
Walk into the village to see the "glowing tractor" convoy parade through the village, starting from the main car park, followed by a Christmas tree light switch-on with carol singing from the local primary school and mulled wine and mince pies provided by local businesses, including The Goathland Tea Rooms and the Village Post Office.
